What to do if Simple Radio stops working in the Background

We developed Simple Radio to work in the background so you can use other apps while listening to your favorite stations.

Some phone manufacturers implemented a battery optimization strategy that closes apps when running in the background or when the screen display turns off.

If you are affected by this implementation, please try the following options.

If you are an iOS user #

1. Open iOS Settings.
2. Select Screen Time.
3. Select Always Allowed.
4. Add the Simple Radio app to the list.

If you are an Android user #

Battery Settings

1. Tap and hold the Simple Radio icon.
2. Tap the ⓘ (App Info) icon.
3. Tap App battery usage.
4. Enable Allow Background Usage
5. Tap Allow Background Usage and select Unrestricted.

The “Optimized” setting will block Simple Radio from working properly.

Data usage

1. Tap and hold the Simple Radio icon.
2. Tap the ⓘ (App Info) icon.
3. Tap Mobile data usage.
4. Enable Background Data and Unrestricted mobile data usage.

Without this setting enabled, your device’s configuration will block Simple Radio from using your mobile data when WiFi is not available.
